Judge Slams Trump's 'Pathological' Lack of Remorse, Imposes $350M Fine in Civil Fraud Trial

Justice Arthur Engoron has rendered his decision in the New York civil fraud trial involving Donald Trump, resulting in fines totaling $355 million for the former president, his company, and associates, along with an additional $463.9 million in interest. Additionally, a three-year prohibition on conducting business in the state has been imposed.

Previously, the judge determined that Trump had inflated his wealth on financial documents provided to banks and insurers to facilitate deals and obtain advantageous loans.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who initiated the case, had initially sought $370 million in disgorgement from the entities.

In a separate development on Thursday, Judge Juan Merchan in New York denied Trump's motion to dismiss a case brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. This case alleges falsification of business records to conceal a "hush money" payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, with a trial date set for March 25th.

Meanwhile, in Georgia, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis defended herself and her former boyfriend Nathan Wade against a motion seeking their disqualification from prosecuting a wide-ranging racketeering case involving Trump and others. This case pertains to their alleged efforts to interfere in the 2020 election in Georgia
